Introducing Noah!

This is Noah, my little baby. He's more of a dog than a hedgehog. He will drag tasty shoes to hidden corners, and have himself a picnic... holes in shoes included. Yesterday while I was down the hall to powder my nose, I returned to find Noah face first into a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips... when I called his name he emerged from the bag, chip in mouth, finished his chip and wandered off... What a guy.

His new favourite pass time: bobbing for raspberries in his water dish :)

Why is it that when you need someone to be there, to care, they aren't? When you need them to take note that you exist, they don't? Following suite you roll with not existing. But as soon as you make effort to disappear, properly, they suddenly notice!? All I can think of right now, is that I WANT TO SHOOT ZOMBIES! I need me a Wii.

I would like to make a note, to the few people who may read this, to every person who has ever uttered the words to me, or to the people guilty of ever saying them to anyone themselves: "Time heals all wounds" = complete hooey.

I didn't think it was physically possible to miss someone this much, for this long. But it is. Missing someone is it's own form of cancer. It eats at you, never leaves, let's you think that you can have good days-days that seem like everything will be okay.... but then it creeps back in, just to remind you that it's there, that it's going to stay. I spend so much time thinking, in the wonderful words of The Band, "please darken my door". But no, the logical side of my brain has told me it is only a pipe dream. I stand waiting at the other side of my door, with open arms, for the return of my love- ready and willing to let everything else go, to start again from that long awaited sight and smile. I know, and fear that my arms will never again be met: Not by the one I hope for. Hope. Hope- that sick little teasing thing in the back of my head.

Tomorrow the sun will rise, and I will rise with it. I will put on my shoes, put on my "today is a new day" face, and walk happily towards my bicycle. And ride, as if I were in the front seat of a '73 VW van headed to the coast. I will sit, in the sun, under a tree, in the park which has made itself my second home, with my book, my sketch pad, my music, and an apple.

And I will dream.

Toronto's own Textura was the live jazz entertainment for the Imprompteuse 2: Burlesque Improv show, last Sunday February the twentieth. The show was held at The Augusta House in Kensington Market, and needless to say was a great success.

Textura is:The lovely and sexy Lieke Van Der Voort (vocals), the tasteful and amazing Eric Rogerson (guitar), the groovy and brilliant Hayden Farrar (bass), and splendid and always on time Julien D. Bigras (drums). Standing in on bass for the evening with his tasty walking lines was Wesley Allen.

A few new pieces of jewelry!

The first is a ring made out of an old spoon I'd found, the beading is loosely based off of a peacock feather.

The second is a necklace, hand painted and wired, made from a piece of beach glass ceramic I found.

And the third-a pair of earrings. I love how the gold and teal go together.

This Photograph pretty much sums up my feelings right now; My life being the sand castle. I want to smooch it... At least the bad parts. I'm not looking forward to yet another move, but it is necessary.

On a side note: If your friends ever say "hey, let's walk to the entire other end of this beach to get a bite to eat... it'll only take an hour or less"..... They're lying. This happened to me. It took almost five hours.... resulted in many pairs or sore feet, lots of sun burned skin, (thanks to Beau) may smooched sand castles, and this awesome photograph. It is one of my favourites. T'was a terrible idea to have such an adventure, but it was spent with great friends. All in all, I would do it again.

How to meet the girl or guy of your dreams... Fool proof.

Buy a falconer’s glove.

Approach the one you like wearing the falconers glove.

Ask “Excuse me, have you seen a falcon fly by here?”

Look up to the sky, hopeful/sad.

If he/she says “No,” look distraught and ask if he/she wouldn’t mind helping you look for your falcon.

No human being would ever turn down an opportunity like this.

Use the time you spend together searching for the falcon to get to know him/her.

At the end of your search (10 minutes) you will probably need consoling re: the loss of your one true friend.

By this point his/her interest in you based on the fact that you were able to put so much love and time into the raising of a falcon will more than ensure a second date, and from there it’s just a hop skip and a jump to marriage.
